Interactive Installation, inspired by Planet Earth
A motive for this installation is to create a sense of reverential awe that can be found in nature. Nature gives us moment of absolute awe and respect and fear of nature. I would like to invite this reverential awe to the cityscape that is detached from the nature’s scene. For me, a whale, has always been a creature to be feared and respected. WHALE is an outdoor public space interactive installation, put together with 3d animation, employing motion dectection and visitor interaction. The site will be composed of projections down to the ground, utilizing infra red camera for body detection. An outdoor setting is an important aspect of this installation as the site will never be bound on all four sides. I want to play with the idea of boundless, expanse of the site. The installation asks the visitor to simulate nature’s interaction within the cityscape.
